Not English, French or Portuguese. Spanish is the predominant language of the hemisphere in which we live.
Even the other DUmmies don't believe him:

    41. Been to the Carribean lately?
Spanish is spoken, yes but so is French, English, Dutch and all sorts of local dialects.
Even in South America there are a few old British Colonies where English is the majority language.
Is Spanish a common tongue here. Yes. But the majority? Umm, I don't think so.
You are also ignoring a very large Populus country named Canada where English/French is the ruling language.
And then there's this - get the granite ready!

    44. We speak english in America
If you want to come live here then you should learn our language.

I know we dont have a national language, but I should not have to learn another language because others refuse to learn mine.
I should learn another language because it will make me a more rounded individual...I am working on that, but its not spanish.
Poor poor fool - he has to learn to never say anything remotely sane.

English is the language of international commerce and science. It's the Latin of the 21st century.

SnObama doesn't even know how to speak spanish. Spanish would not help talking to Mexicans at all, two different languages.

By the way, all air traffic controllers speak English on the job, worldwide.

    15. He was right but you're screwed because...
it will be a while before most Americans realize the benefits of being multi-lingual. Last I heard, Spanish is now the most common language in the world, although Mandarin Chinese is catching up fast.

(Try telling them having more than one language means more opportunity and more money in your pocket.)
This is bigger than presidential politics. This is a battle for America.

    52. You should learn spanish. Being an American isn't an excuse for being lazy.
I do not have to learn spanish just to live in America. They need to learn English. I'd never go to Mexico and demand everyone else learn English just to accomodate me. Four words sum up my position on the language debate: "Press one for English."
