As it stands if a drug is developed in Cuba, we can't use it. How fucked up is that?

A lady firefighter was paying over $100 for an inhalor, due to lung damage from 9/11. When Moore took her to Cuba, she found Cuba sold the same inhalor for a nickel. Needless to say, she bought a bagful.

I use inhalers and while mine do not cost $100+ they do cost in the $30's. They used to cost around $5 but they had to redesign them to get rid of CFC-based inhalers because they were harmful to the ozone layer. The new "green" inhalers do not have a generic version so they cost more. I am sure that is why they are cheaper in Cuba. I bet Moore didnt know that he was helping to destroy the ozone. :D

I find it extremely ironic that my inhaler is helping to save the atmosphere that I can no longer breathe as easily.

Ironic that I had to use an inhaler after being almost poisoned by a lot of second hand smoke when we were on vacation this spring. I can't compare the new green ones with the previous ones because I never had to use one before.

It cost $35 with my copay. Those ones in Cuba for a nickel were probably long expired.

Would you reallky want to take a med developed by Castro? :eek:
