Wow.. After looking at your pictures, I think that photography has come a long way, but in many ways not..

Here's a seagull I shot with my 300mm from beneath the streetlight he was perched on:

Obama-if you're being run out of town, get out in front and pretend that it's a parade!!!

Here are some pictures I took from atop Mount Wachussett Ski Resort in the fall. They suffer because I didn't have my CPL with me, but the "carpet" of treetops looks like you just want to walk out on them..

That's a good picture. Don't stand under the other end when you take their picture though. Pelicans are bad that way too!
I had fun taking pictures of gulls in Galviston. We stayed in a hotel that was built on a dock out over the water and they came to the balcony visiting.

You can fix that in Photoshop with saturation and contrast adjustments. The filter I use for fall colors is called an enhancing filter. You won't lose as many stops as you do with the polorizer.

You should appreciate these-I found them in my house when we bought it, and I have no idea who they are or if they're still alive. Sorry-I don't have a scanner..

Thi sone is dated 1920, and it's in perfect condition:
