I love SPAM. AND bacon.

If you were ever in the US navy you would know the meaning shit on a shingle .
But spam has a special place in my heart. The smell of that stuff coming up from the galley vents was enough to gag a maggot. We always kept some emergency canned chow in our lockers for the nights they had spam on the menu .
Creamed chipped beef in some nasty tasting, pasty white sauce served on toasted stale bread was bad enough but spam was the pits.We always suspected that the Navy cooks were all trying to poison us and that chow proved it.
For example whenever we were in the middle of a Typhoon in the South China sea they would serve some greasy crap like pork chops in number two motor oil for chow.We ate from partitioned stainless steel trays and while having one leg wrapped around the steel leg of a galley table to keep from landing on our ass on the deck we would have to elevate one side of the tray and quickly scoop up the chow into our mouth and then quickly elevate the other side when the ship rolled the other way while the food slopped from one side to the other in the motor oil.Oh the joys of fine nautical dining !
For chow the next day they always made something they called Welsh gamecock that was made of powdered eggs, rice and some other green crap that we were never able to identify .
That stuff was deadly and guaranteed spending the morning in the head puking and crapping your guts out if the weather got at all heavy which it always was just after a typhoon .
