#1 Backyard shooting.

It's such a hassle going shooting around here, I have to get in my car and drive about 3 miles.
So to make it easier to practice, my lovely wife got me this for my BD...
This is a Gamo "Silent Cat" (aka Gamo "Whisper") .177 pellet gun. The only thing you hear when you fire it is the spring.
I've been having a great time practicing in backyard. This air rifle is VERY accurate and a hell of a lot of fun.
Anybody else "practice" with something like this?

Looks like an excellent weapon for Tree-Rat removal. :D
May the FORCE be with you!

Pellet guns are no joke! People dismiss them as a toy, but they will kill you quick with a well placed shot! I have a .45 pistol that takes CO2 cartridges, and I wouldn't want to get shot anywhere with that baby! It shoot BBs, but it will drive them more than halfway through 1/2" drywall! A face shot to a person would be disastrous!
I wouldn't want to defend my home with it, but it's a little badass!
I like that rifle-is it pump or co2?Obama-if you're being run out of town, get out in front and pretend that it's a parade!!!

I have a couple of Crosman pump air guns and a C02 gun but nothing that nice. I have gotten pretty good with the air pistol. I bet I can hit a squirrel in the eye at 30 feet..
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

I have thought of getting one of those. I got a single pump pistol that I bought to use to kill the occasional packrat if I can't catch it in the trap. But I don't know.
I tested the pistol against a phone book. It penetrated at least 1/2 inch into the thing. I figured plenty powerful enough for a rat.
I had a rat down in the brick work of my former BBQ. I shot it several times and I think they were bouncing off. Weird.
Might need a rifle. What power scope and what range do you zero it at?

I had a 9mm air rifle that would kill deer. I sold it with the air tank this spring.
