How Fat Is Your State? Breakdown of State Obesity Percentages

    Friday, July 18, 2008

Below is a list of how each state ranks in adult obesity prevalence, along with the percentage of obese adults. The breakdown is based upon a Centers for Disease Control report.

    1. Mississippi: 32%
    2. Alabama: 30.3%
    3. Tennessee: 30.1%
    4. Louisiana: 29.8%
    5. Arkansas: 28.7%
    6. West Virginia: 29.5%
    7. South Carolina: 28.4%
    8. Georgia: 28.2%
    9. Oklahoma and Texas: 28.1%
    10. North Carolina: 28%

    (snip)

    40. Colorado: 18.7%
Colorado is the least fat state at the moment. No clue about the Florida ranking, though. Maybe they didn't have a category for "Fattest, Drunkest, And Most Likely To Set Itself On Fire" state. :D

    Kalifornia is PHAT. ;)
At Coretta Scott King's funeral in early 2006, Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert Kennedy, leaned over to him and whispered, "The torch is being passed to you." "A chill went up my spine," Obama told an aide. (Newsweek)

This is bigger than presidential politics. This is a battle for America.

Nah, we just know how to cook. Not alot of greens and fried foods up North. I'd rather live to 70 eating what I like than live to 100 eating cardboard.
I feel that once a black fella has referred to white foks as "honky paleface devil white-trash cracker redneck Caspers," he's abdicated the right to get upset about the "N" word. But that's just me. -- Jim Goad

All that unemployment must have taken us out of the top ten (Michigan). They keep telling us here that we are one of the fattest states, by the skinny girls on the local news channels. Although one of those skinny girls (Fanchon Stinger of Channel 2) is now out of a job for being too involved in the latest city scandal, the one involving Conyers' wife.
