Newsweek doesn't have any vested interest in promoting American viewpoints. Like most media, it's concerned with circulation and in the international market, it will sell more mags with anti-American story than with a pro-American story. Being anti-American is a cheap and easy way for foreigners to feel morally superior while they slide into fascism or demographic oblivion.

The enormous rise of a global middle class is pretty much purely following some American values and strategies.

News magazines and some business magazines were battered by the ad slump. Ad pages dropped 21.1 percent at Time magazine over the first half of the year, 22.4 percent at Newsweek, 14.8 percent at BusinessWeek, 12.6 percent at Forbes and 12.2 percent at The Week, according to the bureauís report.
they are on their way out.

I canceled my subscription early in the Iraq war coverage they were doing.

The magazine just lurched to the left and went staggering merrily off.

I gave up on Newsweek and Time years ago. I used to get the Economist, but it's lurched badly to the left in the last few years. Now, I just go to the NY Post online edition for daily news, the American Spectator, Weekly Standard and National Review for monthly and weekly information, and avoid the MSM like the plague.

Before you can do things for people, you must be the kind of man who can get things done. But to get things done, you must love the doing, not the people!
