Thread: Sultry Sunday Heat

A nomadic lifestyle is fine for individuals but it's not all that productive in terms of building great civilizations. It certainly doesn't lend itself to stable childhoods or community building. Like it or not, children require a certain amount of stability if you want them to do more than herd sheep and steal women from over the next hill.
Purpose and meaning are tricky things. While some people are completely (or almost completely) internally motivated and can find meaning and purpose regardless of their surroundings or crowd level, most people find meaning and purpose in family and community efforts. The material acquisition part - house, yard, Hummel collection - is a side effect.
