2. Don't both these polls use old voter roles for their calling pools??
Maybe that's why they don't seem to reflect what's happening on the ground.
Makes me wonder whether state polls use newer lists of voters.
Remember, gang, liberals are NOT elitist. They're just smarter than everyone else.BrklynLiberal (1000+ posts) Sun Jul-20-08 01:52 PM

3. I am appalled that it is even that close. How could that many people who are against
Bush and his policies feel that it is ok to vote for McSame???
Maybe the media is correct, and there are a lot of idiots out there in the voting public.
What this means is that libs expect their politicians to BUY their votes with promises of endless social programs paid for by someone else.faygokid (1000+ posts) Sun Jul-20-08 01:59 PM

6. It's a phenomenon. The scare tactics have been effective.
Impossible to underestimate the intelligence of the American electorate.
They have voted against their best interests before; no reason to think it won't happen again.
Especially with a black Mooslim on the ticket.
That evil MSM, plotting against the DUmp as usual. :Dmucifer (1000+ posts) Sun Jul-20-08 01:52 PM

4. unfreakingbelievable!
how can mccain's numbers be so high?
I hate the msm.
The liberal/conservative split, as seen in the past two presidential elections is about even, like this poll. If racism is alive and well then why are McCain and Obamessiah so close? The only racists that will hurt Obama are Democratic racists. Conservatives will vote for McCain because he is not a socialist and it has nothing to do with Obama's race. The biggest political racism in this country today is how Dem politicians take the black vote for granted while supporting programs which institutionalize black poverty.World Citizen (239 posts) Sun Jul-20-08 02:04 PM

9. Racism is NOT dead
it's alive and thriving, and its not just in the south. It's dangerous to underestimate this factor.
Note to lurking DUmmies: Here's why many Americans don't support the Obamessiah:
1) He has VERY little actual experience in government - 143 days on the Senate floor and has authored NO meaningful legislation.
2) He has NO military experience. (Remember how the Dems tried to make such an issue of that in 00 and 04?) He is not qualified to be CiC.
3) A lot of Americans simply DO NOT LIKE socialist policies. And even McCain is too far left on many issues for a lot of conservatives.
4) Just because Obamessiah speechifies well and promises you the moon (which he can't deliver) does not mean he would make a good president.
5) He IS a flip-flopper who sticks his finger in the wind and says whatever he thinks his audience wants to hear. That is NOT leasership, it's pandering.
6) McCain is no messiah to conservatives but he's a sight better than the Obamessiah.
