AlmostThere posted a little trivia in the Saints Drown Giants thread so I thought I'll start a little useless football trivia thread so with that, here is the first question:
What is the longest play in NFL history not to go for a touchdown and who were the principles involved?

I'll give you a hint. It was a pass play and the receiver went on to have a great career but not with the team he made the play with.

I'd have to look it up. I'll guess 99 yards but no clue on the receiver. What decade?

Close on the yards. It was 98 yards. Decade was the 70's.

OK, looks like I threw in a stumper. Here is the correct answer:
On December 10, 1972 while playing the L.A. Rams and with the ball on their own 1 yard line, St. Louis Cardinals QB Jim Hart hit WR Bobby Moore(now known as Ahmad Rashad) down the sideline and Moore dashed, danced, and evaded all the way down field only to be caught from behind on the Rams 1 yard line for a 98 yard non-TD pass play. Conrad Dobler said in his book that they were ready to brain Moore because they had to run downfield to run another play. Rashad's recollection of the play says that he must have run 200 yards on that play because of all the evading he had to do. He simply ran out of gas at the end.

Hmm. Probably could have guessed at that. All I kept coming up with is Lynn Swann.This is a trick question because Doug Flutie has to be on someone's roster. :D

I found the answer on the longest non-TD question but it was nowhere near what I would have guessed.
