NYC has a big fault line that runs under it and through it, and no one talks about it.

Every ten years or so, there's a quake on the New Madrid fault, or in the Ohio/Mississippi river valleys somewhere, and we get a tremor up here in Michigan. It's been a little over a decade since the last one, so that is due. Those are minor and don't usually cause much or any damage. The last one happened during work hours at the old building, which had multiple stories. I was on the 4th floor, and I remember getting really dizzy for a minute, then everything shaking for about 30 seconds. Not shaking heavily. I thought a truck had exploded on 1-94 again.

How do you suppose the place acquired that elongated shape ?It was originally connected to Bahamas and Cuba .With a good survey map you can still see where the underwater reefs connecting them to the Florida before they submerged .

It wasn't Earthquakes. It was a lowing over the sea level during the last ice age that connected them and when the ice age ended the seas rose and the land bridge was gone.

Oh Really,I think you'll find that the glaciers failed to go down as far South as Florida !
