Here are the enlistment records of Charles W. Payne, brother of Madelyn Payne, great uncle of Obama:

Charles W. Payne, born 1924, enlisted 10 Nov '42, Navy, 6293977 Registered, order #12019, Kansas City, Wyandotte Co., Board #4,
So, Obama's great uncle liberated Buchenwald from his ship somewhere in the Pacific?

And Just a few comments :

    A Simple explanation:
Uncle Chuck was one of the early American Communists during the depression, and he jumped ship in the Pacific, made his way to Russia where he joined the Red Army and personally shot off the lock at the main gate of Auschwitz. Then went into hiding when all of his Muslim relatives got frosted at him for helping the Jews.
    .................................................. ............................
Doe-eyed Obambi makes GWB seem like a genius by comparison. This is a man who see's dead veterans in the audience, will campaign in all 57 States, mourns for 10,000(actually 12!) victims of a tornadoe, and has a Seaman Uncle who seems to have been the only naval man to free Buchenwald.

Not to mention his racist, Anti-American senntiments in the book "Dreams from my father" where he quotes from the wrong Rev. Wright. Add to that the fact that he bragged about smoking weed and doing cocaine in his memoirs and we have the worst Presidential Candidate in history.

He is a Manchurian candidate and dances as his socialist brethren pull his strings.

I have no doubt that McCain will win in a landslide. Thanks to all of you Libs who helped us rid the country of the Clinton's in favor of a much weaker, inept, inexperienced, gaffe-ridden liar.

And thanks to B.Hussein Obama for making GWB look so darn smart!

Uhhhh, annnnd...well, you know...there uhhhh is a valid point umm to be made that, you know annnnd, uhhhh, B.Hussein hardly knows how to uhhhh speak without a teleprompter.

    What a fool.

    Here is something interesting:

A Query To The 89th Div’s Unofficial Website
As you probably know by now, we (and others) noted Mr. Obama’s claim in his Memorial Day speech to have an uncle who liberated Auschwitz in WWII.

The Obama camp have since stated that Mr. Obama misspoke, and that he was talking about his grandmother’s brother “Charlie Payne.”

They say Mr. Payne served in the 89th Infantry Division which liberated the Ohrdruf concentration camp, which was part of the Buchenwald prison complex near Weimar, Germany.

In our efforts to fact this hitherto unmentioned fact about Mr. Obama’s ancestors, we contacted a site which purports to honor the 89th Infantry Division:
    http://sweetness-light.com/archive/a...isions-website

    Mr. Kitchell,

As you may have heard by now, Barack Obama has claimed that his great uncle Charlie Payne was a member of the 89th Div that liberated Buchenwald.

According to records his full name is either Charles W Payne or Charles T Payne (most likely the former), and he was born in 1924 — and he is still alive today.

He most likely was from Kansas at the time of enlistment.

Do you have any record of this gentleman?

    Thank you,

    Steve Gilbert

Please crawl back under the rock you came out from.

    Good day

Raymond Kitchell, veteran 89th Inf Div

I don’t claim to represent anyone. You are the one who came to my son and I asking for information.

Please spend ample time chasing down the lies fed to you by chickenhawks Bush & Co. Like 90% of this administration, they don’t have the foggiest idea what we went through or what we saw at Ohrdruf.
    Quite a site!!!

I Didn't Know This About Obama's Uncle, Did You? (Obama's Great Uncle: Registered 11/10/1942, Navy

Nope, no Army listings for a Charles Payne, just Navy...

    A few possibilities:
    Payne, Charles E. Inducted 9 June 1943, Army 37531353 Registered, order # V11125 Augusta, Butler Co. (Board # 2)
    Payne, Charles W. Enlisted , Navy 6287657 Registered, order # 11111 Hutchinson, Reno Co. (Board # 3)
Payne, Charles W. Enlisted 10 November 1942, Navy 6293977 Registered, order # 12017 Kansas City, Wyandotte Co. (Board # 4)

Agusta, Butler County is adjacent to Wichita, KS where his grand parents lived.

It seems clear that this statement is timed with his efforts to capture the Jewish vote. Is that just coincidence? I saw a quote from 2002 where BHO made the same statement but stated it was his grandfather, not uncle.

You know, I was willing to accept that Obama mistakenly named Auschwitz instead of Buchenwald or wherever else the COncentration Camp was. Errors happen. I was even willing to give slack when he said Uncle instead of Great Uncle.
But to explain away such misstatements with a lie is an insult to us, and it reveals his original statement was also a lie to start with.

Here are the Army listings...I don't see a Cherles W Payne listed....

I’ve long detected a phenomenon among liberals, that their utter ignorance of real history allows them to MAKE UP a history that suits them.

Works OK at cocktail parties, since none of their circles of aquaintance can correct them, being just as ignorant. The Clintons and now Obama have taken this into the national media.

Thanks be to God we have FR and the rest of the blogosphere to set the record straight. The MSM, being equally stupid, is unable to. (Not that they would.)

here is some more stuff for your research .This could be of interest to the Gator if you find anything !

A Charles T. Payne, born Kansas 1924 served in the right unit:

Concerning the service of Mr. Charles Payne: C.T. Payne was a soldier in the 89th Infantry Division. He served in the 355th Infantry Regiment, Company K. The 355th Infantry Regiment was the unit to liberate Ohrdruf. Mr. Payne was there

The Story of an 89th Liberator

Fifty years have passed since this day but I recall my first impression of the camp called Ohrdruf which I found later was associated administratively with the camp called Buchenwald. Ohrdruf was named after the town of the same name, apparently locally famous for its history of being the place where Johann Sebastian Bach composed some of his works. Bruce Nickols

The date was April 4, 1945 and I was on a patrol as a member of the I & R platoon attached to the Headquarters Company of 354th Infantry Regiment, of the 89th Infantry Divisions, 3rd Army U.S.A.

Obama has a great uncle who indeed was part of the liberation of an ancillary Buchenwald camp. This uncle is an American hero, like all war veterans, and deserves respect. Sadly, he's being attacked in ridiculous comments like the first one, joking that this veteran was a communist traitor. Why? Because of hatred of democrats. Of course, if someone attacked a veteran that wasn't associated with a democrat, that would be grounds for banning from this board.

Sad that some people here don't really care about respecting our lost war veterans, so close to memorial day.

Obama has every right to cite his family's veteran legacy. It's something every relative of war veterans should do. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to talk about Obama's policies, experience, etc... instead of lying about his heroic great-uncle.

Poor Uncle Charles (who is still alive) has the misfortune to be the relative of an ill-informed, incompetent, ignorant nephew.

He isn't a "lost" war veteran (although Obama could still see him if he was).

It frightens me that some fools are so blinded by Obama's weak message that they don't notice he's no deeper than a road slick.

Did he not even know that Auschwitz was in Poland? Guess he sat through years of classes and listened about as well as he did at church.

He didn't go to american schools in his early years-I learned about WWII from books I read, that I checked out of the school library. Mainly, I read The Diary Of Anne Frank when I was 8, and since the Franks were sent to Auschwitz, I knew it was in Poland (although Anne and her sister later died at Bergen-Belsen). I read The Hiding Place when I was middle-school aged, and in that book, the author and her sister (who were hiding jews, but not jews themselves) were sent first to a dutch prison, then to a work camp, still in the Netherlands (where the workers sabatoged the radios they were making for german fighter jets), and later to Ravensbruck, a death camp in Germany. I also read various historical fictions written for kids, but can't remember the names of them all. One was about some french nuns who hid jewish children among the other kids in their school, one was about some kids who survived the bombing of Warsaw and walked to Switzerland, and so on. Also, my great-aunt, who stayed behind in Europe in the 20s, worked for the underground in the Italy/Austria/Slovenia area of the alps. She was arrested by the Nazis with a good number of the people in the community, because they shared their community food stocks with jews and other enemies of the Nazis (probably Tito's soldiers). Because she spoke 5 languages, the stupid germans put her to work as a telephone operator, and she was able to pass messages for the underground right under the noses of the Nazis, who in their supposed superiority, never bothered to learn any language but their own.

Also, my fifth grade teacher, who was from Hungary, had been a POW of the Nazis, and had escaped the prison camp. He also had escaped under the Iron Curtain with his family, and told us a harrowing tale.

But we didn't really study WWII in any kind of depth until maybe 8th grade or so.

I doubt Obama had access to the kinds of books that most of us did growing up, being educated overseas in muslim schools. He may have watched "Hogan's Heroes", though.

If he saw Schindler's List, he should know that Auschwitz is in Poland. That's where the workers were sent from Schindler's factory, and he had to get them back to work in his factory.
