From an email. Can you believe this traitor? He's determined to make the civilized world hate us while he panders to the neanderthals in the Middle East to win their favor (which could never happen).

    Obama Snubs Berlin Wall Ceremonies

President Barack Obama's decision to spurn German President Angela Merkel's invitation to attend ceremonies commemorating the fall of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago is "the most telling nonevent of his presidency."

That's the view of National Review Editor Rich Lowry, who notes that Obama has visited more foreign countries than any other president during his first year in office, yet has begged off going to Berlin to celebrate the Nov. 9 anniversary because of a crowded schedule.

"It's hard to imagine any other American president eschewing the occasion," Lowry writes.

"Wouldn't Obama at least want to take the occasion to celebrate freedom and human rights those most cherished liberal values? Not necessarily. He has mostly jettisoned them as foreign-policy goals in favor of a misbegotten realism that soft-pedals the crimes of nasty regimes around the world.

"During the Cold War, we undermined our enemies by shining a bright light on their repression," Lowry writes. "In Berlin, JFK called out the Communists on their 'offense against humanity.' Obama would utter such a phrase only with the greatest trepidation, lest it undermine a future opportunity for dialogue."

The Berlin Wall came down because the free world, led by America, stood resolute against communist tyranny. But for Obama, "we are less an exceptional power than one among many, seeking deals with our peers in Beijing and Moscow," Lowry observes.

"Why would Obama want to celebrate the refuseniks of the Eastern Bloc when he won't even meet with the Dalai Lama in advance of his trip to China?"
Obama-if you're being run out of town, get out in front and pretend that it's a parade!!!

Obama probably cried the day the wall started to go down. I wonder what he was thinking when the GREAT President Ronald Regan said "Mr. Gorbchev, tear down this wall".

Obama is a Marxist socialist, which in my book isn't much different than a comunits. He can't be happy about the Berlin wall going down.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. Thomas Jefferson

He can find the time to go to Berlin to deliver a stump speach to people who can't even vote for him, but can't make it to rememberence of the end of Marxism and the reunification of Europe??

Does he find it too disturbing Marxism failed?

He made it over there to the Olympic Committee meetings in order to shill for Chicago to get the Olympics, but he couldn't get there to commemorate the fall of the communist wall. He loves communism so I bet the occassion would be too sad for him.
If leftists didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all.

He did send a recorded reverb enchanced, telepromter guided speech. All about the great things he was able to accomplish since the wall came down but neglected to mention anyone connected with bringing the wall down. Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, Lech Walesa, and Pope John Paul II went completely unmentioned.

I know I did, and when my husband came home later he welled up, too. Both he and I had gone through Checkpoint Charlie at various points in our lives, and it was an emotional experience to realize that it would no longer exist. What a wonderful evening it was.

Did you go to the Resi (sp) nightclub in Berlin. I was there for a week playing in the All Army Golf Tournament when the wall was still up. A good looking Fraulein kidnapped me for the night and we went thru the Brandenburg Gate. I could have spent many days in the stockade if I had been caught or the East Germans could have tried me .

No.... I was young at the time and my mother wouldn't let me. Once I stopped travelling with her, my horizons expanded a little.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Obama has been hailed as nothing less than the incompetent boob he is on this site. As a hero? What the fuck has he done that is heroic?
