sorry, evil mod. You may want to Google "Is granite passe?"

I predicted a year ago that the day would come when realtors would refer to granite countertops as "dated" and it's already happening. On the HGTV show "My House is Worth What?" last week, a Los Angeles realtor told the homeowner that their granite counters were now passe and that quartz or cultured stone was now the preferred material.
    I love the concrete counters

People don't realize that granite takes some maintenance. We have Corian counters and sinks and love them. They've been in the kitchen for 13 years now and look like they were installed last week.

Concrete counters are the new rage. They are gorgeous, and can be molded to look anyway you like. They seem so much cleaner.. being all one piece with the sink.

We're still getting granite countertops, they look beautiful and are nearly impossible to damage.

Now if the house would just get FINISHED! (grumblegrumblegrumble)

I have Corian and tile. When I do the counter-tops in a couple of years, I will probably stick with the Corian. My BF has gorgeous granite counters and she's replaced a heck of a lot of stemware and china because of them.
