It's never a good idea to come between an enraged mother and her young, especially if said mother packs weaponry like this one. Sadly, we don't know how this epic battle turns out, but judging from the damage the woodpeckers around my house inflict on tree trunks, wood siding, railings, suet feeders and pretty much anything else into which they can pound those vicious little beaks I'm not sure I'd want to be that snake.
After watching that video I'm glad woodpeckers (except for those giant pileated woodpeckers and the maybe-present-maybe-extinct ivory-billed) are relatively wee little birds. If they were, say, heron-sized and you happened to hang your tree stand a little too close to their nest hole...
It,s a pine snake common in the pine savannahs of the south they can get around seven feet long and big as a pump pipe. They will eat anything.
