As always, I yardsaled today. I picked up a new cdrw for my computer.. mine was no longer working. The new one cost $5.. never taken from the box, good speed and all...

TOTD- I love to play with the neighbor kids. They are ages 11 & 8. We have a commune type thing established where we all help with the "pool" (a really neat above ground that has to be taken down every fall), and we all sit out back for campfires.. and we help to watch the kids during sleepouts. We always have a tent set up.

I am currently helping the neighbor kid to write music on the accoustic guitar that I picked up for him at a yard sale... ($2.00). He has spent sooooo much time picking at it, and in spite of his learning disability, he sounds better than me!! So we are writing angry songs today. Other days we "write" happy songs. Just putting our emotions to words, as he strums on the guitar. He is not half-bad, for being all of 8 years old, and he loves it.

That is my idea of playing.. fun with kids.

Good answers, guys. I thought of one after I did my post, playing with the dog and the cats.

Lucie, our Lab, loves to play ball. Throw the ball. Lucie goes and gets the ball. Throw the ball again. She does this until she is exhausted and loves every minute of it.

She also likes "Go find it." I show her the ball or chew toy, make her sit and stay, then go and hide the ball or chew toy. I come back, and she is trembling with anticipation. Go find it and she charges off and locates the object of her affection. She plays this until she is exhausted.

Playing with a child or a favored pet is a treasure.

Oh, the cats. Laser pointer. 'nuff said.

This is bigger than presidential politics. This is a battle for America.

    Nice, LL.

There is nothing quite like playing with someone who plays with integrity, and with the whole heart. Somehow, I think Play is a treasure, maybe even a sacrament. Play is a gift. A wonderful gift.

I haven't played 40k or Warmachine in a while, been too busy with other real life pursuits. It just seems like it's hard to find the time to get everything together, put together an hour or so to game, and then pack it all up again.

Recently my escapes have been reading and playing video games on the computer. I can fire up a game in a couple minutes, play for a few more, then go back to other important stuff. I think another complication is that game nights at the local club are during the week, and my weekends are usually the best time.

I didn't even think about playing with the animals. I spend a lot of time playing with my crazy cat, Jasper. He is so easy to torment. He is a non stop source of entertainment for me.

Over 30 years ago, my family was moving from Americus Georgia to near Clayton. We rented a Uhaul or Ryder or whatever was available. Every trip we stopped at a convenience store in Jasper County Georgia. On one of our trips, we saw this dog out by the dumpster looking for food. Long/Short story, we picked the dog up and brought him with us. Named him 'Jasper.'

    Had him for years.

Good dog. I had forgotten about him. Jasper is a good name.

Heh heh, went to the beach today just south of Santa Cruz Ca. and there was a guy throwing a tennis ball out into the surf and his black lab would run out through the breakers and return it. Fun to watch.
