Judge on Rove’s citizen arrest: ‘It’s about time.’
Advertisements [?]Last Friday, police in Des Moines, Iowa arrested four people who attempted to make a citizens’ arrest of former top White House aide Karl Rove, who was in town to speak at a GOP fundraiser. A retired minister and three members of the Des Moines Catholic Workers community were cited for trespassing. However, according to a press release, the judge presiding over the case praised their efforts:

Shaw was the first called before Polk County Fifth Judicial District Associate Judge William Price.

After entering her plea, the judge asked Shaw, “Mamn, what were you doing at the Wakonda Country Club?”

“I was attempting to make a citizen’s arrest of Karl Rove, your honor,” Shaw answered.

“Well,” the judge looked up and said, “it’s about time.”

Well if you think that the judge violated ethical rules, there is a way to report them to the Judicial Qualifications Commission.

Iowa court rules (ch. 51 is judicial conduct)

I suggest you make your own inquiries as to whether any of these rules were violated by the judge.

Same as it usually is. They find someone...in this case a judge.....who has BDS and is delusional....and they all are sooooooo excited and act as though it's the end of the Bush Administration.

Then they are let down when nothing comes of it.:)

The "press release" was created by Mona Shaw and Frank Cordaro of the Des Moines Catholic Worker Community, i.e. the group that tried to arrest Rove. I wouldn't put much trust in the story. The court transcript should show if the judge really said that or not.

I was about to say they made the whole thing up but I did find the judge:
District Associate Judge, William A. Price: District 5C

Judge Price, Ankeny, was appointed to the bench in July 2001. He received his bachelor's degree from Drake University in 1970 and his law degree also from Drake University in 1972. Judge Price has worked as a trust officer, an assistant Polk County attorney and most currently in general private practice. He served in the Iowa National Guard from 1970 to 1976. Judge Price is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, and the Polk County Bar Association. He is married and has two children.
