Man accused of making bomb threats at Nellis Air Force Base
A man has been taken into custody after allegedly making bomb threats to Nellis Air Force Base personnel Friday afternoon, Metro Police said.
Metro Police Lt. Dan McGrath said the man was taken into custody about 3:30 p.m. after pulling up to the main gate and making bomb threats. He said officers searched the manís car but did not find any explosives.
Nellis spokesman Eugene Hill said the main gate to the base was shut down at about 3 p.m. as a result of the incident. The gate will remain closed until officials finish their investigation, authorities said.
The incident did not impact operations at the base, Air Force officials said.
The FBIís Joint Terrorism Task Force is taking over the investigation, McGrath said.
