OCOEE, Fla. -- When two gunmen tried to break into an Ocoee house early Tuesday morning, the homeowner pulled out his gun and shot one of the men dead. Another robber ran off after the home invasion on Pomegranate Court (see map).

Meanwhile, homeowner Dave Henry has not been charged in the shooting.

Police said Henry told them he had just gotten home from work at his car dealership, D & H Professional Auto Sales on Old Winter Garden Road in Orange County, at about 12:30am Tuesday.

Ocoee police said Henry knew something wasn't right the moment he pulled in the driveway. It was just after midnight and he didn't recognize a car parked near his house.

Henry killed one armed robber during the ensuing shootout in his driveway. He was shot during the gun battle, but his injury is not life-threatening.
