House Democrat official: 'We've got the votes' on health care

Washington (CNN) -- Democrats have the 216 votes needed to pass health care reform legislation in the House on Sunday, the chairman of the House Democratic Caucus told CNN.

"This is a historic day and we are happy warriors," Rep. John Larson, D- Connecticut, told CNN's "State of the Union." He added, "We've got the votes."

But the chief deputy whip in the House, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Florida, cautioned, "We don't have a hard 216 right now." Schultz made the statement to "Fox News Sunday" just as Larson was speaking to CNN.

Wasserman Schultz added, "I firmly believe we will have 216."

Every single member of the House and one third of the Senate should know this. How the fuck are you going to face your constituents to campaign for reelection? Believe me, they will be waiting for you! Oh yes, they WILL be waiting for you. How are you going to deal with the very real possibility of being trapped in a car by a crowd that is going to be beating on that car and rocking it? You did not think this all the way through, did you?

They are being escorted into the capital building now with armed police. Fox has video of Pelosi heading in with her special gavel, and a stupid grin on her hag face.

My bet, they pass it. Too many quiting this year, enough who don't care about what their voters think and will just pass it.

Still have a shoot with the Senate, but its getting harder. This Easter break, we need to break them. And pray that the Senate changes the bill enough to force it back to the house for another vote, one they will fear.

I don't think we have a shot with the Senate. The House is passing the Senate bill. A separate reconciliation bill goes to the Senate, not the Senate bill. Obama can sign the Senate bill once it passes the House.
