Why Health Care Reform Must Pass

Before you ask what kind of self-medication I’ve discovered, let me preface this by reminding people I, among other things, am a political tactician. I lived in dark blue Massachusetts where Democrats not only made sport of standing on the necks of the super-minority Republicans, but attempting to squeeze the remaining life out of them. I know how they think and I know what will happen if health care reform is defeated.

The GOP has the cover of being 100% against this bill, so they are relatively safe come November.

    snip

I say let the Democrats have this victory.

Democrats will subsequently incur the wrath of the American people. Town meetings this summer will require Dems to arrive with armed escort, if they’re brave enough to hold them at all. Knowing incrementalist Democrats as we do, they’ll keep ramming unpopular legislation through after passage of health care, infuriating the public beyond the point of redemption.

On the other side, every Republican running this fall will do so on a “Repeal the Bill” platform. Should the GOP retake the House and Senate, that should happen.

November will give new meaning to the political term “bloodbath”. Democrats could be out of power for the foreseeable future, and in 2012, we will see Obama leave in disgrace.

While we all know how disastrous this health care reform will be, I’ve also learned a few things from sadistic Massachusetts Democrats: once you have your foot on the neck of the opposition, press down until they stop breathing. Because of their arrogance, we have golden opportunity to let the Democrats destroy themselves.

I think we should let them do it.

This bill must die! Some people may believe that the Republicans would change it or repeal it. Me? I harbor no such good will for the Republicans. I am sure that had not the atmosphere turned so hostile and venemous, a whole bunch of them would have happily supported it. I am sure they are in their offices biting their knuckles and stomping their feet at not being able to blow smoke up Obama's ass along with the rest of those bastards.

I wish that every single one of them would lose his ass in a primary then have to live in fear the rest of their lives thanks to their actions.

I truly feel for the families of the passengers of United 93. That plane was most likely headed to the capital. The passengers revolted and tried to take the plane from terrorists. It saddens me that they sacrificed their lives for the likes of what is in congress now. What a fucking waste!

i agree, the writer of that arcticle is a fucking moron. WE CAN NOT let this shit pass, we can't let this go to the Supreme Court, there is no guarentee that this thing would get over turned.

Basically, the author is saying that if we let the Democrats pass this bill, then that will generate a significant backlash in favor of the GOP in 2010. On a short-term gain, that holds true. However, entitlement programs are almost impossible to get rid of. Look at the wrath against Bush from both sides when he wanted to privatize parts of Social Security. Once this bill gets in, it's not going away and it's simply going to create more problems until everyone is forced to go with a single-payer system. The goal of this bill isn't to win the 2010 election, it's simply one more stick in the ground that liberals can use to weaken the conservative movement. If we don't stop this, then we're going to end up like the UK where basically every party is a left-wing party. Even the Conservative party outright supports the NHS. This is our future if we don't do anything:

    http://www.conservatives.com/Policy/...nd/Health.aspx
Over three years ago David Cameron spelled out his priorities in three letters – NHS. Since then, we have consistently fought to protect the values the NHS stands for and have campaigned to defend the NHS from Labour’s cuts and reorganisations.

As the party of the NHS, we will never change the idea at the heart of our NHS – that healthcare in this country is free at the point of use and available to everyone based on need, not ability to pay. Labour promised to save the NHS but today, despite the massive increase in spending, the gap in health outcomes between the UK and the rest of Europe has actually widened.

We are the party of the NHS today because we not only back the values of the NHS, we back its funding and we have a vision for its future.

Once this law passes, it will take years going thru the courts. Repealing this monstrosity will not happen either. By the time Obamma's term expires, he will have infected every agency with ten of thousands of left wing liberals. Health care, cap and trade, etc will just be icing on the cake. The dipshit that wrote this article is way out in left field.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. ~ Thomas Jefferson
"The efforts of the government alone will never be enough. In the end the people must choose and the people must help themselves" ~ JFK; from his famous inauguration speech (What Democrats sounded like before today's neo-Liberals hijacked that party)

What bloated gov't entitlement program has been reversed once the American public got used to it? The GOP wanted to privatize SS before it was too late and the DUmboRATS soiled their panties over it. They painted the GOP as monsters bent on taking food out of baby's mouths and money from grandma's purse.

I do not believe the GOP has the will or power to repeal this monstrosity. I don't believe the public is intelligent enough to recognize the irreversible damage this will cause. Our schools will celebrate this and teach it as a huge victory for Americans. Remember the cancer called Progressive teaches our children.

No, this Marxist attempt to steal our country cannot pass.

He wrote in terms of the consequences to the Democrats if the bill passes. That is dubious to me because
a lot of bottom feeders and corporate hogs stand to gain from the bill. With all those bucks floating around someone is bound to make out on the deal, and I fear it won't be the taxpayer.

This whole thing has been surreal, absolutely unbelievable. Someone on another forum had a pretty simple approach. Means test those that need subsidized care and if they do just take care of it without all these bells and whistles attached.

Is this monster a healthcare bill or a power grab by the socialists? My personal experience with the VA system tells me that government provided healthcare is third rate.

You are so right. The name of the game for the clowns is to get it on the books knowing full well it will remain there. Maybe the thing can be modified as time goes on?
