It's the typical, shallow hyperbole a rabid lib spouts against something they've illogically made a symbol of. But this little nugget uncovers a quick glimpse of the their envious souls, which drives their socialist tendencies.

    3. All fuel hogs will be passe soon enough,,,,The STARES should do it...
Now, it doesn't matter if you can easily afford to drive a gas guzzler, even if it's your money and you earned it. The zealots and disciples of DU will point their gnarly fingers and stare at you! Shame, Shame, how can we cope with that? They will probably make a screeching sound like something out of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". What's next? Staring at those who come out of the grocery store with a multitude of bags? A mass "shame in" outside of big houses? Will they stare at me if they found out I keep my thermostat too low in the summer? Next, it will be stopping on the street to stare and condemn guys whose girl friends are prettier than theirs!

The reason this caught my attention is that envy often seems just as large a contributor toward a drift to socialism as a true concern for the welfare of others.

If you drive a vehicle that gets 4-6 mpg, on the weekends, does that make you the spawn of Satan?
At Coretta Scott King's funeral in early 2006, Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert Kennedy, leaned over to him and whispered, "The torch is being passed to you." "A chill went up my spine," Obama told an aide. (Newsweek)

When I drive my Blazer, the last thing I'm thinking about is what other people are thinking. I most certainly would not notice anyone staring.

When people stare at me in my car, I like to stare back.. About 20 seconds or so of that and the other person gets uncomfortable and turns away..

I don't give a flying rat's ass what those morons think of my SUV. I worked hard in school, got a great job, and I can afford my SUV. Hell, they make Escapes as hybrids and I still bought a real one. If they start staring at me, I'll be too busy laughing at them to stare back :D
They're not people, they're hippies!! -Cartman

It is nothing against you to fall down flat, but to lie there - that's disgrace

I truly don't care what anyone drives. Presumably if someone bought an Escalade or a Hummer, they're not so stupid as to complain about gas prices now.

I don't care about what people drive, but I just can't understand why you would choose to spend more money than you have to on transportation. I drive a Honda Civic and it does it's job very well - gets me to and from work, and wherever else I need to go.

I would rather spend the extra gas money on something fun. To each his own I suppose.

Every time I see a "smart car" I point and laugh.

True. Most ultra- liberals I know are textbook examples of two of the Seven Deadly Sins (And they're two sins which often go hand- in- hand with each other): Envy, and Pride.

SUVís here in the OC are parked on every corner with ĎFor Saleí signs and car dealers are giving joke sized compensations when people attempt to use them for trade-ins.

Personally, I have an addiction for "hurting the pavement", so I donít care.
