    Looks like it was a diplomat on his way to speak to a jailed terrorist. He tried to sneak a smoke on the plane, and then joked about setting his shoes on fire or something when he got caught.

    Looks like it's not a terror plot, just some dumbass doing what dumbasses do best.

    Edit: Also, the state department made some grumbles about revoking his diplomat status and sending him home.
