Stupak To Retire
By Emily Cadei, CQ-Roll Call

Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan, an anti-abortion Democrat under attack for helping to pass President Obama’s health care overhaul, was reported ready to announce that he will not run for a 10th term.

Stupak scheduled a 12:30 p.m. news conference in Marquette, Mich.

The Associated Press reported that Stupak will say he wants to spend more time with his family and start a new career after 18 years in Congress.

The planned announcement came as a Tea Party Express bus caravan moved through Michigan, targeting Stupak with rallies and ads.

Without Stupak on the ballot, the swing seat goes into play, giving Republicans a chance to flip the seat to their column.

BS on his reason. He knows he's toast and can't win after Obamacare.

Here is one yesterday where he said he would be running.
