...that this is going to amount to anything?

    I'd say not very good.

"Our president delivered his State of the Union message to Congress. That is one of the things his contract calls for -- to tell congress the condition of the country. This message, as I say, is to Congress. The rest of the people know the condition of the country, for they live in it, but Congress has no idea what is going on in America, so the president has to tell 'em." ~ Will Rogers

FWIW, which may not be much since it's the NYT...

Top Vatican officials — including the future Pope Benedict XVI — did not defrock a priest who molested as many as 200 deaf boys, even though several American bishops repeatedly warned them that failure to act on the matter could embarrass the church, according to church files newly unearthed as part of a lawsuit.
    Whole story...

yeah, thats the story i was refereing too. Either Mark Belling (1130 WISN) or Jeff Wagner (620 WTMJ) out of Milwaukee were talking about it a couple of weeks ago when the stroy came out. The AP didn't even talk to Weakland who was in charge of the investgation. Murphy died 2-3 DAYS after Weakland sent the letters to the Vatican. so the whole case was a moot point.

    it was Jeff Wagner, http://www.620wtmj.com/shows/jeffwagner/89116122.html
unfortunately his like doesn't go anywhere :(

Also Timothy Dolan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_Dolan who's the Archbishop in NY is the brother to Wagner's former partner. the NY press hates him too because he's very conservative

When will the atheists demand to arrest the Secretary of Education? Public schools have way more sex abuse and the people who use them usually have no other options.

And by extension, doesn't that make the president responsible?

Public schools generally don't smuggle their child rapists out of the country to evade the law, and/or re-assign them to other schools.

And if they do, they get in a helluva lot of trouble for it. Our laws can actually reach them, for the most part.
