A pretty business indeed for a man to be allowed eight hundred thousand sterling a year for, and worshipped into the bargain! Of more worth is one honest man to society and in the sight of God, than all the crowned ruffians that ever lived."

Sometimes, I don't understand you people. Isn't our country supposed to be about "freedom of speech"?
It is also my understanding that he served honorably in the Marine Corps.
Perhaps the "blood and guts" he saw in war changed his mind and he decided to not support the war.
He has passed from this life and I don't think it is fair to talk about him in this manner when he is not here to defend himself.
May he resst in peace! Semper Fi.

Second, we are exercising our right to that same "Freedom of Speech," comprende?
Murtha became a detestible worm who happened to have been in the military. His lasting legacy is that of a lying bag of wind and I don't want to honor him or his memory. I will not attack him without provocation, but if you wish to pursue this topic on this site, you will get largely the same response regarding the Mothman.

Do not ever say that the desire to "do good" by force is a good motive. Neither power-lust nor stupidity are good motives. (Are you listening Barry)?

Before you can do things for people, you must be the kind of man who can get things done. But to get things done, you must love the doing, not the people!

I think they should name a latrine after John Murtha. He shat on our soldiers, they should be able to shit on him."Our president delivered his State of the Union message to Congress. That is one of the things his contract calls for -- to tell congress the condition of the country. This message, as I say, is to Congress. The rest of the people know the condition of the country, for they live in it, but Congress has no idea what is going on in America, so the president has to tell 'em." ~ Will Rogers
