Well Switzerland is a socialist country so it kinda makes sense.....
Not that I'm defending eyelids or George Clooney, but there is a difference between the tabloid press, which seems to enjoy hounding young, mentally unstable, pop stars until they crack and the NBC/ABC/CNN guys who do appear to be on Obama's side.
I still don't see that as a good reason to hold a political fundraiser for an american candidate in Switzerland.
http://patdollard.com/2008/08/george...n-switzerland/The Academy Award winning actor officially endorsed Obama early last year calling him a ‘rock star.’ Clooney compared him to the likes of John and Robert Kennedy saying, “Few people in my lifetime, that I’ve heard speak made me want to get up and do something,” but cautioned, “I don’t want to hurt him by saying that.”
Although next months fundraiser is taking place overseas, the campaign specified only U.S. Citizens with a passport will be allowed to contribute to the campaign.
Mugabe is too busy trying to get his Chinese arms merchants to get him a seat in Beijing, Slobodan assumed room temperature some time ago, and Paris had to be present at the opening of a car door in California. The only way that this could look worse for Obama is if Clooney included Robert Mugabe, Slobodan Milosevic and Paris Hilton as guest speakers.
