This is so typical. The left can't understand waiting to find out what caused the problem and how it is going to be fixed before going off half cocked and blaming whoever they want to pin the blame on.sixmile (971 posts) Sat May-01-10 04:56 PM
The silence is deafening
The horrific oil disaster is all we talk about in my house lately, but I haven't heard a peep from the small-government, pro big-business right.
No policy-makers, no pundits or demagogues. Where, oh where have they gone?
The only 'spin' I've heard so far from the right (their ONLY complaint) is that Obama should have been on site a week ago (probably with a roll of paper towel to start cleaning up another mess brought on by corporate incompetence.)
Where is the rage? Why aren't we frog marching BP and Failiburton executives off to face justice?
They are blaming us for acting responsible and are showing us how irresponsible and simply political partisan they are.

them their talking points. In all probability index cards are being distributed as we speak.
As for rage, well, I think it's building and when the magnitude of all this sets in, it'll reach an extremely loud crescendo.
But it'll be impotent rage. Because, as with Exxon Valdez, the hurt and shock of it will soon disappear into years of lawsuits, new Republican administrations, and more oil money spread around to quell any practical efforts at reform. It's probably something that just happened, but the timing is interesting-just when there is some discussion about drilling. The thing is there is SOME on the left that would figure that the ends justify the means.luckyleftyme2 (1000+ posts) Sat May-01-10 05:15 PM

2. this should finish "drill baby drill"
Like all loud mouth schemes this should prove to the public just how feeble sound bytes are!
It was obvious to me from the start it was all gloss and no fact as to how safe of shore oil extraction is! but let them have a couple good years of ripping off the public and their greed will get them behind the 8 ball! I think that every penny for clean up should come directly from the oil industry! they have no guilt about raising prices at the pump for the biggest profits ever! I have no guilt about making them pay every cent for cleanup and then a threat to either clean up your safety record or we will nationalize you!
