    Not to nitpick, but I think these facts about you have been adequately established. We ain't stupid.
    When the delegates emerged from the Constitutional Convention in 1787, a Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, “Well, Doctor, what have we got?” Franklin replied, “A republic, madam, if you can keep it.”

    Oh, they understand just fine. They just refuse to accept. That is what conservatives need to understand. You can bombard Liberals with facts, but their intellectual and moral compass will distort any fact coming their way. Not because they are stupid (though some truly are), but because that is what they have been trained to do.

    I once saw a bumper sticker that had verbiage to that effect. But instead of "liberals hate me", it said something like "How else can I piss you off today?"
