At least 158 people are feared dead after an Air India jet overshot a runway, crashed into a ravine and burst into flames in southern India on Saturday morning, officials said.
Rescue teams had recovered 146 bodies at the wreckage site outside Mangalore International Airport by mid-afternoon, civil aviation secretary Madhavan Nambiar said.
