James Fogle, whose book "Drugstore Cowboy" chronicled a life spent stealing narcotics, has been arrested for allegedly carrying out an armed robbery at a pharmacy.
The 73-year-old, who has spent much of his life in prison, wrote the book while behind bars and it was turned into an acclaimed film starring Matt Dillon in 1989.
The work was loosely based on Fogle's life roaming the Pacific Northwest robbing pharmacies to feed his addictions.
His latest arrest came after he and another man were accused of raiding a pharmacy near Seattle and tying up its employees.
Fogle was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
Jim Bove, a local police spokesman, said: "He's 73 years old and this is probably the only thing he knows." ...
