I'm so fucking sick of ours as well as Israel's military operating under "rules of engagement" against enemies who will use any and every methodology at their disposal. If it endangers bystanders, even a school full of children, no biggie. Israel, like us have to call in and get permission to fight.

If there was nothing on board other than aide cargo, then why the attack? They had already searched the other boats, no problem. Why the resistance on this one?....Passion for their cause? BULLSHIT. You don't reach adulthood if your passion leads you to attack armed special forces.

Next time, they should retreat to a safe distance, give one final warning. If they don't obey, sink the damn ship. That may enable the next group to better understand what blockade means.

WWW, you're hopeless. Please continue to side with the groups that include factions that would gladly slit your throat.

I'm sure many here will talk about location better then I can.

    SO riddle me this.

All they had to do was dock at the Ashdod sea port. Where the cargo would be unloaded onto trucks supplied by the IDF, and cargo checked for contraband. Then the cargo would then be delivered where promised.

If the "Relief supplies" were nothing banned, why not proceed this way? It still made it to the people who needed it.

We can post news statements put out by the Israeli government all day but there is a video, clear as day, showing what happened.

Because they didn't want the "relief" to get there. They wanted to make Israel look bad.
In most sports, cold-cocking an opposing player repeatedly in the face with a series of gigantic Slovakian uppercuts would get you a multi-game suspension without pay.

In hockey, it means you have to sit in the penalty box for five minutes.

Yes the aid would be delivered "as promised". Despite the fact that the Israeli government systematically blocks aid and food to Gaza every single day and LITERALLY builds walls to block gaza civilians from reaching resources.

they were in International waters when this happened, a group of activists, parliamentarians, a priest, a holocaust survivor...these were the people on board trying to get food to starving people who are victims of crimes against humanity.

how could they?! i guess they deserve to be killed...

A group of commandos come down on a ship and start shooting live ammunition and killing civilians within 30 seconds, an THOSE BASTARDS TRIED FIGHTING BACK!??

have someone declare your house their territory then barge in with guns and shoot your kids and see if you don't try to hit them witha stick.

They had announced their intent to violate Israeli territory. By doing so, they had abrogated the defense offered by being in international waters. In addition, the blockade runners fired on the Israelis as they attempted to board, with small arms, grenades and incendiaries, before the Israelis fired a shot. More weapons were found on board. This was not a peaceful mission, it was an attempt to open a weapons smuggling corridor to Hamas, which is almost universally recognized as a terrorist organization, one which has declared war on Israel and continues to attack civilian and military targets without distinction. Attempting to run a blockade is an act of war, as is transporting weapons (or any other form of aid) to a belligerent party in a conflict, and in that sense, they did get what they invited.

Before you can do things for people, you must be the kind of man who can get things done. But to get things done, you must love the doing, not the people!

Don't bother trying Odysseus. He doesn't want to know what reality is.

so Israel declares a certain area of water off limits, and before a civilian boat even gets into that water, they are boarded and attacked and shot. Yep sounds reasonable enough...

and No, they stole the weapons off of the Israeli commandos that they wrestled down, and used them against the other Israelis. They knocked down some of the soldiers and stole their weapons, including the stun grenade. A "fire bomb" can be made by anyone at any time using perfectly legal substances such as strong liquor or even cleaning supplies.

A nobel laureate, parliamentarians, a holocaust survivor? These people were smuggling guns to Hamas?

Uh huh... There are thousands of people in gaza starving to death, bringing them food isn't helping Hamas any more than sending food to starving kids in China is supporting their government.
