14th amendment was passed after the civil war. So where, in the original constitution and Bill of Rights, does it say that they are?

When the last Mexicans sneak across the border we conservatives need to run down their and establish a democratic republic. We would be the most prosperous nation on the planet within a decade or two.

Oh so Tea Party people don't like all these new socialist additions to the constitution like the 14th or 15th and clearly not the 16. Hell let's drop all the ones after 10.

Real Americans stick true to the principles of our Founding Fathers. We don't need things like the 13th or 18th amendments either. These are just pandering to the commies.

Tea Party 2012: Repeal Every Amendment after the 10th.

You can't have it both ways. You can't pretend like the Constitution should be shredded one day to suit your needs, and the next day pretend like repealing an amendment is like touching a sacred cow.

Chill out Wee Wee, the 14th is pretty clear on this one. If a child is borne in the U.S. they are citizens period. I believe that if their parents are not in the U.S. legally they should be sent back to where they came from, they should be allowed to take their children with them or leave them with relatives that are legal residents or Citizens of the U.S.. The least desirable option should be that the child become a ward of the state and sent to foster care if the parents choose.

I know this sounds pretty cold hearted but that's the way it is. If they don't want to be forced to make a decision like this they should not force their way into the country illegally. They are welcome to come here legally.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. Thomas Jefferson

There was a story in the Wichita Eagle several months ago about a young father from El Dorado, Kansas. He was illegal, but had married and had a child with a citizen. Of course, the child was also a citizen (and would have been in any circumstance as the mother was - and was of legal age.) The father made the right decision...he went back to Mexico and went through the process to come here legally. It took him 2 1/2 years...but he's now here legally and can go through the next steps to become a citizen.

Every parent of an anchor baby should have the right to do exactly that. They can either leave the child here or take the child with them, go through the process, and end up here legally. There is absolutely no reason why a parent should have the right to stay here just because the child is a citizen.

In actual dollars, President Obama’s $4.4 trillion in deficit spending in just three years is 37 percent higher than the previous record of $3.2 trillion (held by President George W. Bush) in deficit spending for an entire presidency. It’s no small feat to demolish an 8-year record in just 3 years.

Under Obama’s own projections, interest payments on the debt are on course to triple from 2010 (his first budgetary year) to 2018, climbing from $196 billion to $685 billion annually.

I see no reason to extend citizenship to the progeny of an invading force.
Stand up for what is right, even if you have to stand alone.
