Why are you being polite?

Let me state this as unambiguously as possible: a fetus doesn't become a "human being" until it graduates from Ive League with a doctorate.
It's a win-win scenario.
That way... if someone tries to appeal to my humanity... I simply say "Peski hue-mahnz? Go bother the PHD down the street. He knows; trust me! He knows... "
At which point at get to pat myself on the back for being ignorant, since... after all... "Knowledge increases sorrow" and well... acting like a fool is pretty damn easy.

You realize there is more than two parties in the USA. The only reason it seems like there are only two parties is because voters are idiots, and buy into the nonsense notion that a 3rd party vote is "throwing your vote away." This allows both Democrats and Republicans to manipulate the base because "where else are ya gonna go?"
Actually, I can't really blame the voters on this, the problem is we have a winner-takes-all style election which is mathematically unsound. If, for example, there were two rounds - the first one is vote for whomever, with the second one being a run-off between the top 2 from the first round, I think a lot more people would be really to vote the way they really wanted in the first round.

Man, I wish the only thing the Republican party stood for was cutting taxes, shrinking government, and respecting my privacy and autonomy as a free citizen. I'd be a freakin' Republican activist if that were the case. For me, it's all the other bullshit that gets in the way.
I'm going to say something very unpopular here, so flame away. But these days, I think the only difference between Republicans and Democrat politicians is how, and in what areas, they want to run my life.Last edited by m00; 06-19-2010 at 07:42 AM.

By the way, thanks to the moderator who removed the "b" word from the thread title which Mike128 supplied, which degrades a politician he dislikes simply on the basis of her being female. I wonder how he'd like it if Ms. Palin were referred to as a "Caribou C---".

I don't have a problem with people standing on principle when it comes to Social stuff. What I have a problem is the Government steping in and telling me what I can and Can't do within that realm unless it harms someone else (ie religious suicide/murder, abortion with exepctions I posted ealier, etc)
I frankly couldn't care less if someone is having sex with a woman or a man, regardless of their gender. Don't care what day you worship, allow anyone to have their businesses open whenever they want
