I have dish network and watch on a flatscreen that is about four years old.

On the Fox NFL broadcast tonight I heard the announcers talking about how the TV broadcast image would be widened or made wider on the screen this year.

    Cool I thought.

Thing is, I can't see the wider image on my TV screen. I can see about half of the little icon in the upper left corner that has the score and time, etc. The rest is cut off. That tells me I am not seeing the whole screen that Fox is broadcasting.

I've tried changing the aspect ratio on the tv and that doesn't fix the problem.

Anybody else seen this or having this problem?
Hey careful man! There's a beverage here!

Is it an LCD or plasma or is it just one of those square type flat tv's?
