You see, what that meant is if you got a wire tap by court order -- and, by the way, everything you hear about requires court order, requires there to be permission from a FISA court, for example.

Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires -- a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so. It's important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution.

The Patriot Act extended the use of roving wiretaps, which were already permitted against drug kingpins and mob bosses, to international terrorism investigations. They must be approved by a judge

Bush couldn't have been clearer , a court order is needed. But we all know what he was doing , and when he got busted pissing on the US Constitution , he started singing another song...

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush on Sunday defended his administration's use of wiretaps on U.S. citizens without a court order, saying comments he made in 2004 that "nothing has changed" in the use of wiretaps were not misleading. http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/01/01/nsa.spying/

You want high crimes and reality , there ya have it. Bush admits he needed a court order , and then admits he didn't get a court order. He has confessed to high crimes.

"In England a king hath little more to do than to make war and give away places; which in plain terms, is to impoverish the nation and set it together by the ears. A pretty business indeed for a man to be allowed eight hundred thousand sterling a year for, and worshipped into the bargain! Of more worth is one honest man to society and in the sight of God, than all the crowned ruffians that ever lived."

Bush is gone. Your hero has his own problems to worry about. The trouble with you rabid lefities is you actually thrive when you're out of power. It's easier to hurl barbs and criticism from the sideline. Now that your gang has the presidency and congress, you actually have to perform. You're out of your element, and it shows with all your Bush references.

Funny how you think everyone here thinks like the hivemind that is DU. Trust me dipshit, there are many here who aren't Bush supporters. However, by all means, don't let little things like reality get int the way of your entertaining posts.

And yet NO republicans spoke up when this crime was committed against the American people by the President of the USA.

Now you hacks run around with signs reminding everybody about the US Constitution , but when these crimes happened , you were right there supporting it.

I think you have your names reversed.
I long for the days when our President actually liked our country.

Satanicus, I doubt you own a gun, but if you do, please give it, any sharp objects, and medications that you are clearly on that might induce death if overdosed, to a friend for safe keeping before election day this November. I am offering this advice as a free forum public service because not having you around after election day would rob us all of an enormous amount of entertainment value. I'm good that way.
"The efforts of the government alone will never be enough. In the end the people must choose and the people must help themselves" ~ JFK; from his famous inauguration speech (What Democrats sounded like before today's neo-Liberals hijacked that party)
