Presidential Race Draws Even-GOP Base Getting Behind McCain

With less than two weeks to go before the start of the presidential nominating conventions, Barack Obama's lead over John McCain has disappeared.

Pew's latest survey finds 46% of registered voters saying they favor or lean to the putative Democratic candidate, while 43% back his likely Republican rival.

In late June, Obama held a comfortable 48%-to-40% margin over McCain, which narrowed in mid-July to 47% to 42%.

Last night at the McCain gathering in STL, it was announced that McCain is leading my 6 points in Missouri.

And I saw a lot of the usual GOP conservatives attending. I was afraid they'd abandon him, as many of those active in politics in this area were supporting Romney.

Like many of us who are not too happy about McCain being the Repub. nominee, you will vote for the sonofabitch because to not do so would enable Obama to win which might put your son in harms way in Iraq.
