You leave that on all day? Don't the lentils get mushy?

Nope, they don't get mushy. I make mine more like a stew than a soup though.

Put a smoked turkey drumstick in it next time. I love lentils!

When I'm eating meat I usually put some Italian sausage in it.

I make a similar lentil soup stove-top using those ingredients, with green lentils. I also add a bit of lime.

I usually make it on the stovetop, but tried it in the crockpot and it turned out well. The lime sounds good. I usually add a little bit of white balsamic vinegar at the end, but I think I'll try the lime next time.

You ladies put me in the mood for lentils, I started a batch in the crockpot this morning with smoked turkey drums.

Kick. So maybe I can use it.
They're wonderful. I have 3 in the kitchen and one in the RV. There's a great book...Fix It and Forget It. Crock Pots are just so wonderfully versatile. Did you know you can bake potatoes in a CrockPot? Just clean the potatoes and place them in the crock pot. NO water nothing. Just pop them in and in about 45 minutes you've got 'baked' potatoes. Sorry to insert myself here but I really enjoy using them.
