The Repubs will cut around the edges. Entitlememts are the 800 gorilla in the room. Most politicans are cowards. They want to get reelected so I doubt that they have the stomach for making big changes which will not be popular.

I am still optimistic that things will get a little better.

I was until I read the "pledge" thingy bull. It's CWA all over again, except it's unbelievably vague. I'm glad that many of the bad Democrats are going to be gone, but only about a 1/4 of the Republican's that will win are actually cuts of a different cloth that got us the bailouts, NCLB, and doubled medicare benefits. So I guess I'll try to be a little optimistic that maybe someone has learned something over the last 10 years even though my better judgement says not to.
