The late Oropeza wins in 28th Senate district

Republican hopes of capturing the 28th Senate District following Democratic Sen. Jenny Oropezaís death were quashed Tuesday as the late South Bay senatorís name cruised to victory.
With absentee ballots counted and 510 of 535 precincts reporting, Oropeza, who died Oct. 20, held an insurmountable lead with 57.8 percent of the vote. Republican John Stammreich was second with 36.3 percent, and Libertarian David Ruskin was a distant third, with 5.9 percent.
Its fair, with the dead voting heavy for Dems, they would naturally want one of their own rep. them.
But what is more interesting. Now that Oropeza is dead, he is far more popular then when he was alive.
