Death Panels? NYC Will Send Ambulances to Save Organs of People Deemed Likely to Die

    - Some 911 Calls in Manhattan will bring out two ambulances, one hurrying to the scene in an attempt to save the patient's life, and the other arriving to save the patient's organs in case the person dies, the New York Times reported on Wednesday.

"After months of grappling with the ethical and legal implications, New York City medical officials are beginning to test a system that they hope will one day greatly increase the number of organs collected for transplant," the newspaper reported.

How about "It's the end of the world, I tell you"? It's probably not ridiculous enough for that category.

As I signed the card to donate some of my organs, I wouldn't want them to be wasted, but in an era where gasoline is almost 3$ a gallon, I think one ambulance that has a clean playmate cooler along with all the lifesaving equipment, should do the trick.

As long as they are my organs and of course the hospital is going to charge the recipient, why can't I sell them to the highest bidder before I actually croak?
It could pay for the funeral and leave a buck or 2 for the widow and kids.

    What is your blood type?
The difference between pigs and people is that when they tell you you're cured it isn't a good thing.

Depends on how long before you croak, I would think. Just don't let this happen to you:

Before you can do things for people, you must be the kind of man who can get things done. But to get things done, you must love the doing, not the people!
