    Charlie and Lola, named after the CBeebies TV characters, live in the reception class at the school in Castleton, Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

    The miniature pigs have been brought in to encourage children to be more 'nurturing' and nicer to each other.

    Headteacher Lynne Coxell says the pigs have settled in quickly: ‘They have settled in beautifully. The children get on with whatever they're doing.'

    Imagine how calm and attentive those kids would be if they just stayed at home with a pet dog and were home schooled.

    I love the photo. The kid looks like she's having fun.

    They took us on a field trip to a farm when I was in kindergarten-a farm that is probably now a subdivision of tasteful, expensive homes. It wasn't for nuturing lessons, though, it was to watch the farmer use his various farm equipment (we were impressed by the milking machine), so we could learn about it all.
