Author of pedophilia how-to book arrested

    — Florida sheriff's deputies have arrested a Colorado man who wrote a guide for pedophiles on obscenity charges.

    http://www.traditionalvalues.org/urban/one.php

Polk County deputies arrested Phillip Ray Greaves II at his home in Pueblo, Colo., early Monday on a warrant out of Florida.

Polk Sheriff Grady Judd says his office was able to arrest Greaves on Florida obscenity charges because Greaves sold and mailed his book, The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: A Child-lover's Code of Conduct, to Polk deputies. Judd says Greaves even signed the book.

Too bad there wasn't an accidental discharge of a firearm at the time...

We could say they are spending like drunken sailors. That would be unfair to drunken sailors, they're spending their OWN money.

Instead of publicly arresting him, they probably should have taken over the operation and see who the hell orders these books.

FBI posts fake hyperlinks to snare child porn suspects
    snip
A CNET News.com review of legal documents shows that courts have approved of this technique, even though it raises questions about entrapment, the problems of identifying who's using an open wireless connection--and whether anyone who clicks on a FBI link that contains no child pornography should be automatically subject to a dawn raid by federal police.

Roderick Vosburgh, a doctoral student at Temple University who also taught history at La Salle University, was raided at home in February 2007 after he allegedly clicked on the FBI's hyperlink. Federal agents knocked on the door around 7 a.m., falsely claiming they wanted to talk to Vosburgh about his car. Once he opened the door, they threw him to the ground outside his house and handcuffed him.

    This is what scares me:

When anyone visited the upload.sytes.net site, the FBI recorded the Internet Protocol address of the remote computer. There's no evidence the referring site was recorded as well, meaning the FBI couldn't tell if the visitor found the links through Ranchi or another source such as an e-mail message.

So basically I could post a hyperlink to the site and say: new liberal site, lots of laughs check it out and it would get you thrown on the ground and handcuffed at 7am when you answered your door. Or, worse... I could set it up as a browser redirect.

It's also a good way to set up an political enemy .All need be done is to plant a trojan in something he will open. After awhile have it download a few child porn pictures to his drive and let the FBI nail him for about twenty years.Computers can be very dangerous to own these days.

I'm all in favor of using the full force of the law to get anyone who actually harms any child but this is going overboard

    You made bail already? WTF?
"Our president delivered his State of the Union message to Congress. That is one of the things his contract calls for -- to tell congress the condition of the country. This message, as I say, is to Congress. The rest of the people know the condition of the country, for they live in it, but Congress has no idea what is going on in America, so the president has to tell 'em." ~ Will Rogers
