They claim to be informed, but if they were, would they be making these statements?

China ain't so bad! Just what you want to hear an elected official say.
Vancouver's Mayor says China went all out for the Summer Olympics and he was very impressed. Speaking from China, Sam Sullivan says he thinks China has made its mark through the Games.
Sullivan says China doesn't really feel like a dictatorship, "I turned on the TV, I saw all the western channels that were criticizing China, and I thought, "Wow, this didn't really square with the feeling that people in the west have about what's going on in China.' There is a lot of openness but you have to remember that the people of China are very solidly behind the Olympic Games."
Sullivan will also carry the Paralympic Torch through Beijing.

Everybody’s watching what’s going on in Beijing right now with the Olympics. Think about the amount of money that China has spent on infrastructure. Their ports, their train systems, their airports are vastly the superior to us now, which means if you are a corporation deciding where to do business you’re starting to think, “Beijing looks like a pretty good option."
