    GLAAD Files Petition Against CNN

    By Chris Ariens

Today GLAAD, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, started a petition to try and persuade CNN producers and bookers to not bring on guests from, what they call, “the anti-gay industry.”

For years, CNN has insisted on including the voices of the anti-gay industry whenever a topic that involves the LGBT community has come up. It’s time to speak up and tell CNN that this is unacceptable.
GLAAD is using a recent “John King, USA” segment as an example. On December 21, King featured a segment on “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” with openly gay former service member Alex Nicholson and Peter Sprigg of the Family Research Council. GLAAD says Sprigg, “has worked to advance some of the most hurtful, dangerous, and demonstrably false notions about the lives of LGBT people that our country has seen in recent years.”

“CNN needs to stop elevating anti-gay opinions to the level of the actual experts who they SHOULD be talking to; people like scholars, historians, professionals, or folks with actual experience (not just animosity),” says a statement from GLAAD. …

I thought CNN had already been doing this, of bringing on those who only agree with their agenda?

Once again the left shows their true colors by trying to silence any and all opposition. Where is their vaunted tolerance?
Stand up for what is right, even if you have to stand alone.

It isn't a question of tolerance, it's a question of relevance. It's also an issue of news and talk shows inviting representatives of these hate groups on programs for entertainment value. The TV shows once invited members of the KKK to discussions about civil rights. They don't do that anymore. What do these people have to add to the discussion?

The same as anyone: their opinion. This reeks of thought police to me.

Leave it up to the Audience and the sponsors, I thought you said you were a capitalist.
The difference between pigs and people is that when they tell you you're cured it isn't a good thing.

If the privately owned news organization wants him to be. Last I checked it wasn't illegal to have an opinion, and it wasn't illegal for a news organization to invite whomever they choose to give their opinions.

If CNN wants to book him, sure go right ahead. If you dont like it there is this ingenious device called a remote control it allows you to turn the channel or turn it on and off.
