Every other level of College sports has a playoff system, whats so special about Division 1 Football that they can't have one?
It would ruin the integrity of the bowl system.

Like that organization has any integrity to begin with.

Thing is, I think a playoff system could be just as good for the schools and the networks and bowls, at least money wise.

But somehow I think money is at the root of all this....

The love of Money is the root of all....football?
but they would make more money with a playoff system...they are morons

I would love to see that. A playoff round between the #1,2,3 & 4 ranked teams would be great. No one will ever be satisfied though. Number 5 and 6 will be bitching cause they were not included. One extra playoff game for the National Championship would improve the sport.

And there is plenty of time left for it between the end of the season and the bowl games. What was it, a five week layoff for Oregon and Auburn. Time enough for the offense to get rusty for both teams.

You mean including teams like Michigan and Michigan State that got the shit kicked out of them. One extra game would be enough. You can not have every broke dick team playing for the National title.

if you're in the top 15, you're not a "broke dick" team.

Michigan wasn't in the top 20 at all, MSU was a decent team that played bad. Plus you would get teams that rarely play each other to do so. wouldn't be hard to set it so odd ranked teams played each other and even ones played.

Alas Jerry and all you SEC haters.

Seven of the last ten, 9 over the last 15, and the last 5 BCS championships go to the SEC. Hurts huh?;):D

Very true. Even the Ohio State coach who has 1 win and 12 losses in bowl games playing mostly SEC teams stated after his win over AR that beating a SEC team is a real accomplishment.

A Fox sportswriter predicted that 9 of the top 20 first round draft choices will come from the SEC. The Heisman trophy winner, Newton, did not make the list.
