Death threat at ABC-TV Town Hall event Saturday

Reporter: Forrest Carr Web producer: Sheryl Kornman

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) -The meeting room at St. Odilia's Catholic Church on the city's northwest side was packed with local dignitaries, witnesses to the mass shooting Jan. 8, some of the witnesses to the shootings and the first responders to the scene for a taping of an ABC-TV special, a town hall event, at 11 a.m. Saturday. Host of the program, This Week, is Christianne Amanpour. The show will air at 7 a.m. Sunday on KGUN9-TV.

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head at close range last Saturday by a lone gunman. She survived. A total of six people were killed. Nineteen were shot.

Jared Loughner, 22, a former Pima Community College student, is the sole suspect in the shootings. He is in FBI custody.

Toward the end of the town hall meeting Saturday morning, one of the shooting victims, J. Eric Fuller, took exception to comments by two of the speakers: Ariz. state Rep. Terri Proud, a Dist. 26 Republican, and Tucson Tea Party spokesman Trent Humphries.

According to sheriff's deputies at the scene, Fuller took a photo of Humphries and said, "You're Dead."

Deputies immediately escorted Fuller from the room.

Pima County Sheriff's spokesman Jason Ogan said later Saturday that Fuller has been charged with threats and intimidation and he also will be charged with disorderly conduct.

Among the dignitaries at the town hall taping were Mayor Bob Walkup, U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva and former Congressman Jim Kolbe.

ABC News dubbed the town hall, "After the Tragedy: An American Conversation Continued."

    Need more context on this...

We could say they are spending like drunken sailors. That would be unfair to drunken sailors, they're spending their OWN money.

Amanpour probably paid him off to say it for ratings.

This guy pops up a day or so ago on Democracy Now sayng that it was the usual conservatives fault. He's interviewed about his 'wounds'...says he got hit in the knee and in the back but he took himself to the hospital and he's out running about in just a week....that's some fast healing, heh? Goes to the meeting and makes an Azz out of himself, gets carted off by lawmen and is undergoing some psychological testing...same as loughner. If the Sheriff hurries maybe he can get some testing done on himself. Fuller claims to be a disabled vet. i wonder. We know how lefties like to play vet and how some of them claim disability for monetary or other reasons. Additionally, I have to wonder if Dupnik doesn't have a file on Mr. Fuller. Guess we'll be getting the scoop on him in a couple days. Democrats better watch their backs. One of their own is still running around loose.

    J. Eric Fuller’s Profile: A few answers and many questions

AZ Shooting Victim James Eric Fuller was quite opinionated in his interview with Democracy Now, but it seems his barking moonbat bona fides go back several decades at least. He apparently has some kind of fascination with hypnosis as revealed by his page on Hypnothoughts.com, “the fastest growing hypnosis community in the world.”

Mr. Fuller has posted a profile of himself that is itself intriguing, providing a few answers and raising even more questions about who this man really is.

    snip
    About Me:

Non-deep pocket with a lot of heart. Began life as a computer operator, military service leading to non-physical disability, unable to resume career, left main stream and lived in small towns for a decade studying library books and piano, moved into Tucson in 1994 and worked as a Chauffeur for most of 10 years, presented state-wide initiatives at libraries, worked elections, in ’09 worked at the Census Bureau as a field rep and a clerk. Non drinker for one year, non smoker for 40 years.

I guess he means he doesn’t have much money—even with a disability check from Uncle Sam. What other kind of disability is there if not physical? …Oh yeah… I get it. Sorry. It’s probably something he doesn’t like to talk about. He dropped out for ten years to “study library books and piano,” to emerge refreshed and ready to live his dream. He became a chauffeur, an activist, then a federal employee. He has been a non-drinker for one year. What was he before that?

I’m sorry, but Mr. Fuller doesn’t seem to be the kind of veteran that I meet with down at the VFW. His eagerness to place blame on others and his apparent hatred, or at least ignorance, of the Constitution would put him at odds with most American military veterans. I respect and thank all my comrades that have served their country, whether in combat or not. But, if Mr. Fuller’s opinions are to be accepted because he is a Vet, then we should know more about his service and his disability.

I was so disturbed by his quotes a couple days ago about this being Palin's, Beck's, et al.'s fault. And then he goes to Loughner's parents' house. In a way, his little outburst this morning may be the best thing if it means getting him some help. It sounds like he definitely needs some.
