I won't salute the flag, or stand during the anthem, am I unpatriotic?

I absolutely refuse to bow my head in public prayer, pledge allegiance to or salute the flag, I won't stand during the national anthem, and I refuse to wear a Chinese made flag lapel pin. Am I less deserving of America's grace? Should I leave it? Just because I don't get teary eyed or goose bumpy at the sight of the flag wafting in the breeze, is there something deeply wrong with me?

Now, when I hear Ray Charles singing 'America the beautiful', I do indeed get all teary-eyed, is there hope for me?

We already know that you are unpatriotic, this is just one more reason, moPaul.

Never been big on the pledge and someone not standing for the national anthem is not going to make me angry. Just ignore them, they do it because they want attention.

If I were in a foreign country, and their national anthem played, I would rise, stand respectfully, and remove my hat. That is because I have at least some sense of respect for a place I visit and a people I share a moment with.

As much as I despise the policies of China, I would show at least that level of respect.

It has to do with a sense of decency.

On the other hand, when I am down and dirty in a debate with someone, I will say just about anything to skewer that person.

People today have so little of a sense of occasion and do not understand decorum. They are often stupid and vulgar. And when they are, it is obbvious.

I have mixed feelings on this one. I do not think the founding fathers would be to fond of the idea. But as mentioned it is disrespectful on some level and I always stand and take my hat off.

Nice to see MoPaul is alive and well ( most likely still screaming at his Mother until she cries) and still the king of j\his own little world.

MoPaul was, is and as far as I can tell will always be a third rate loser who's imposes his brand of misery on everyone who doesn't shared his pissed off world view. I believe you should at least stand and give respect to the anthem and the flag when it is praised.

Not because you agree or disagree with the current leadership of our country, but for the HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of soldiers, marines, airmen, and sailors that have shed blood for that same flag.

Cant argue WWII, Korea, Vietnam, etc...

Do it for them. Give them that respect.
