Think how wonderful it would be if we just completely switched over to consumption taxes whole sale. Illegals - foreign nationals - tourists - everyone would pay then! :) And people would pay on what they consume rather than on what they make! How blissful would that be?

Holy shit just don't bring them to Arizona! These socialist transplants in AZ are more likely to proffer up money in support of, and vote for the same 'ol laws that drove them out of California in the first place. It's like they are all sadomasochists'! They fought for their right to suffer under socialism for so long, they have to come here and fund the same bullshit! It's almost as if these idiots believe socialism will stop when their own interests are satisfied. Arizona should consider Californian immigration reform. Forget the Mexicans, at least they are capitalists, start shutting out the Californians. The idea of the 'spread of communism' was no joke. We Arizonan's feel it every year when sun birds come from CA, don't go home, and decide to make AZ more like home. It's almost like Florida only with a less competent state legislature.

They just can't admit that they were wrong. It's typical leftist disconnect from reality. They refuse to see the natural results of their stances - socially and economically.

I don't want a turn! Do I have the option to pass? Seriously, the voting population of Arizona is being infiltrated with California transplants. This is nothing new, it's been happening since I moved here when I was 15. Now, however, they've gained enough transplant numbers to start influencing policy, and it's beginning to worry me. , Arizona is probably one of, if not the, most conservative state in the Union. I don't mean conservative like religious fundamentalism social conservative, but more like the "leave people the hell alone" brand of conservatism. That's we give our peace officers AR15's, that's we allow CCW holders to carry on campus, that's why we have very strict controls on so-called 'imminent domain' land seizures. Since this influx of Californians over the past 15 years we have seen increases in tax funded health care increases, and tax-funded infrastructure construction for 'cookie cutter' privately developed subdivisions,
We still do pretty good, and our state congress is majority conservatism, but it's changing. I don't mean more democrats are being elected to state office, I'm saying more republicans are voting left, and letting leftist policies slide.

As a Californian, I should resent that, but I know what you mean. The way you describe Arizona is libertarian. The irony is that Californis is way too expensive for the ordinary person to live in, so many Californians go to Arizona. The problem is they forget why California GOT so impossible economically and they repeat the error.

The left never learns from their mistakes. They constantly think that if they could only try again it will come out better . . . .
