not surprised....we throw all our corn into that shit hole called ethanol so that drives up prices

China's lack of late 20th Century irrigation techniques screwed us even more because they are going to drive up the price of wheat

Even Al Gore stated that using corn to mfg Ethanol is a bad idea and has had a devastating effect on food prices in 3rd world countries. Poorer countries spent 50% or more of their income on food. Food riots in numerous countries are coming. You would think that the morons in Congress would defund the corn subsidies and let that industry root hog or die. However, Repubs in the corn belt states would have a shit fit if that was proposed.

The disastrous floods in Australia will have a huge impact on the price of wheat also.

    The above chart, taken from:

Shows that the price of wheat has already gone from 201 to 326. In a different thread, I showed where cotton has gone from 50$ to 140$ a unit in two years.

If there are two things we gotta have it is cotton and wheat. There are others, of course, but those two are on everyone's list.
The Global Warming crowd will be quick to explain it all to us, rest assured. And they will want more of your tax money so that they can stop global warming.

    Yeah.:)

We should trade the sand monkeys in the M.E. food for oil. That would reduce our balance of payments. Pay the farmers a good price and jack up the price to those countries selling us oil.
